The art of 8 limbs

This is a test post discussing Muay Thai in Indianapolis, IN. One thing I have noticed is that the athletic commission seems to be very open especially with the growing popularity of mixed martial arts (mma). It is pretty easy to find a sanctioned bout and you can almost always find a good smoker which are outlawed in some states with stricter guidelines. I recently moved to Indianapolis from San Diego. For the last two + years, I have been training with Kru Ruben Rowell at Extreme Power Gym in Oceanside, CA. It has been difficult to find a new gym here that compares to the training and intensity there.

In Indianapolis, IN there are a number of venues for fighting. Friday, January 8 2010, my brother and I will be going to 8 Second Saloon to seen some cage fighting. Hopefully these guys will have a decent stand-up game. Otherwise, it will be pretty boring unless there is some good ground and pound.

Hopefully, there will be some good promoters there that will have more information on where to train. Unfortunately, a lot of the guys fighting here have about 2 weeks of training and think they are pro fighters. So I am not planning on seeing any real skill or appreciation for the sport. But everyone like to see a good brawl every once in a while.

You can bet that I will be commenting heavily on what I see and making suggestions on choosing a venue to see a fight.
