A high number of athletes would be willing to go to any lengths to excel in their fields of activity and develop the ability to perform high jumps. Stretching is one of the best methods of saving your body a lot of pain; if you do your stretching routines properly before your workout sessions and right after them, you will enable your body to recover at a rapid rate. Make stretching a habit, and a fun part when working out!

3.)    Jumping can be done on both soft and flat surfaces. Soft surfaces are grass, rubber floors, carpet areas, and these routines will make the surface absorb the shocks instead of your body, when landing.

4.)    Over training is a definite no! Your body needs a decent recovery time before putting it through another tough routine!

Shifter Carts

So we have all been go-karting. It’s a fun little outing. You cruise around the little track at a fractional speed. We have all thought the same thing one time or another as we took a turn at mach negative three. What if these little car-like things went really fast?

This is what I want to talk about today. Such vehicles actually exist, except they are driven by “professionals”. The sport is called Shifter Cart Racing or Superkart Racing. The cart itself it really not dissimilar to the gokarts we all have hopped into one time or another. They just have less cart and more engine. The 125cc shifter carts models are generally known to travel speeds in excess of 80 miles per hour, and they can reach speeds of 60 miles per hour in as little as 3 seconds. There are also plenty of 250cc shifter carts , which can go up to speeds of 150 miles per hour and higher! Try driving that around the track of your local fun center.

That isn’t going to happen any time soon. These motors with a seat are carefully regulated by a number of associations. They are not unattainable though. There is a special license for them and you can make or buy your own to race. It’s cheaper that racing in motorsports. But it is still has a thrill all of its own.  The Shifter Cart sport is growing in popularity by leaps and bounds. It’s a big difference from the 15 miles per hour the family is used to.

Aerosmith Concert At Fenway Park Sells Out

On April 17th, 2010, the tickets for the Aerosmith / J. Geils Band concert at Fenway Park went on sale to the public through Live Nation / E Tix.  The tickets sold out almost immediately and there were reports that there were ticketing issues and many fans never even got the opportunity to view available tickets.

Many sources are stating that the concert officially sold out around noon EST but if you were one of the fans looking to buy tickets, you know that at 10:01 am, there was pretty much no chance of getting any tickets.

The owners of Fenway Ticket King report that due to complications through Live Nation and E Tix, many people turned to FenwayTicketKing.com to order their tickets. A jump in visitors and sales was the result of many issues through livenation.com.

The concert is scheduled for August 14th, 2010 on a Saturday in Boston.  Because the concert sold out so quickly, it is expected that the bands will add a second concert to the lineup at Fenway Park however it is most likely going to be on the Friday before (August 14th, 2010).

There exists a variety of plyometric workouts which can assist you to increase the height of your jump. These workouts usually focus on the explosive strength or how fast your twitch muscles are. Both these factors are essential if you are looking to add a few inches to your jump. There are also a variety of workouts to jump higher which normally has only a single goal that is to increase the height of your jump. The following exercises are taken from a variety of workout methods to help increase and improve your jump height.

1. Cone hoping – Look for a small stool or raised bench about one foot wide and one foot tall. Put the object directly ahead of your body. Try to jump forward on one leg while avoiding the stool and land ahead of it. Afterwards, jump sideways on the left side and the on the other right side of the stool while ensuring that you do not bump into the object. Perform these jumps for about ten times while switching your legs after each time.

2. Depth jumping – Look for a small stool or bench about one foot high or the third step of a staircase. With only one foot, stand on the selected bench or stair and hop two steps forward after jumping down. Perform these jumps for about ten times and then shift to the other leg for the subsequent ten times.

3. Bench jumping – Look for a bench that has a height reaching the knees. Make certain that the bench or stool is wide so that you can jump on it without the risk of falling off. While standing ahead of the bench on only one foot, jump on the bench and the hold that position for four seconds. Once you have done this, switch to the other foot and use it to jump of the bench again.
