Part One – Another Blasted Wrong Number!

If you are anything like the majority of us, then you have to pay for the minutes you use on your cell phone.

However, for some strange reason at the end of each month I have no idea where all those minutes go.  It is way beyond me how someone, even myself, could use that many minutes talking on a stupid phone in the first place.

This month I decided that my cellular company was cheating me out of my minutes and I was going to catch them in the act.  I carried my pen and paper around with me where ever I went, then each time I received a call I would write down who it was from and how long the call was.  I would even round the call up to the next minute, which is what my cellular company does I am sure.

As soon as the first call came in, which was my x-mother-in-law, I told her I was about to run out of minutes and could not talk…I checked the timer…less than a minute.

I quickly wrote down her name and one minute.  This was going to be easy as pie.  All day long I did this little routine, by the end of the day I written down twenty names, but I had only used twenty minutes.

I still could not understand how I had used so many minutes last month.  As soon as I got home I began calling everyone who had called me during the day.  I ended up talking for hours for some unknown reason finding out this and that.  Then the next day, I started my new routine again.

However, today for some unforeseen reason I started receiving a call that was a wrong number.  They would ask for someone, but I could not hear them.  I would ask them to repeat what they said, which they would do, but I still could not hear them.  After several frustrating minutes of not being able to hear or understand them, I told them they had the wrong number.  So, finally, I just hung up the phone.

I looked at the minutes and it said seven minutes.  I did not write this call down simply because it was a wrong number, right?  However, every single day this would happen two or three times a day, but I still never bothered to write it down simply because it was a wrong number.

At the end of the month when I showed my total minutes to the clerk at my cellular phone store, he said that they show I used $630 worth of minutes that was not showing on my list…

I was taken my surprise and asked who they were to.  Low and behold they were to the wrong number lady.

I told the man behind the counter to charge it to the lady who kept calling me and getting the wrong number, because I could not afford to buy a car with bad credit, but she was the one that could afford to call the wrong number every day.

look for part two:)
