It is played with paddles also known as bats and a plastic ball. It had also become a very competitive game. It consist of hitting the small plastic ball back and forth over a net. You can watch a Ping Pong Video and see just how this works. Most games play to 21 points but some are as low as 11. The player is usually determined to which player wins 3 out of 5 games. If the game is tied 20-20 or 10-10 then one player would have to win two consecutive points to win the match.
Ping pong is the most recreational game played in peoples homes and basements and table tennis is the more competitive version. A player must hot the ball after it bounces on his side of the court, If the ball is hit before it lands on the table then it would be an illegal hit and the opponent will get the point. Both rackets must have rubber on them with one side being black and the other red. If you watch a Ping Pong Video with professionals you will see that some have small tears and rips on the rubber of the racket. This is fine as long as the umpire says it will not change the way the ball will go when it is hit. You should show your opponent your racket at the beginning of the match and if at any time you need to change out your racket because it gets damaged then you will show the new racket to the opponent and the umpire.
If you notice in a Ping Pong Video you are not aloud to touch the table or the net when the ball is in play. You can touch the side of the table but never the top. If you touch or move the table then your opponent will automatically get the point so make sure your table has the break set and will not move.
