Razzle dazzle in the World Cup
July 10, 2010 on 2:08 am | By admin | In Recreation and Sports | Comments OffAlthough most of America does not enjoy European football (also known more predominantly in the United States as soccer) there has definitely been a much larger appreciation now that the World Cup is well upon us. For the last three weeks we have been treated to thrilling corner kicks from the likes of Spain’s Torres, to Argentina’s Largen wearing retro Jordans cleats on the field, and hightop Jordans off the court. It is needless to say that the papparazzi is having a field day with all the new photograph opportunities, but it is also a good way for the player to build their brand. Most soccer players that make it into the English Premier Leagues become multi millionaires. There has been some recent criticism, saying that some of the soccer players become “soft” after they get a big contract. They are said to lose their hunger for winning because their bellies are so full with greed. The good thing is that not every football player has been affected, and the world is being treated to amazing blocks, superb goals, and breath taking saves in the 2010 World Cup. There has been plenty of razzle dazzle, enough so that the Japanese stayed up until 2am local time watching their team play Uruguay all the way into a penalty shoot out. For those who missed it, it will be impossible to describe the feeling. But it’s not too late, there are still games to be played. If not in the World Cup, in the European championship leagues. There is plenty of time to become a fan and catch some of the amazing athletic dramatics played out on the soccer field.
