When installing structures and pipelines for utility use, companies need scuba to assist in the placement of the structures. Although this is a difficult profession that involves a lot of danger, many divers love to work in this field as it is always exciting. Each project comes with its own challenges that have to be overcome so the job never gets old.

Search and rescue is another field that utilizes scuba divers. Much of this work is performed by emergency personnel from the police and fire departments, but other companies do hire this type of worker also. The most frequent use of divers is when an airplane has to make an emergency water landing or when a boat is in distress. Other times a diver may be called in is for accident recovery or to assist another diver in distress. This is a high stress position so you must be equipped to handle any circumstance without hesitation.

Marine biology makes extensive use of scuba divers. Biologists in this field only study organisms that live in the water. They do not focus on the environment or how animals interact with each other. Many choose to specialize in a particular animal group, but if this is an interest you have you may be able to find work in underwater biological materials or climate change research. If you love scuba diving and wish to do it every day, consider finding a job that utilizes your skills. There are many out there to be had.
