Who doesn’t like the sound of a great vacation? Some people want to take a relaxing cruise, other’s want to go somewhere quiet, and others are looking for adventure. An adventure vacation where you do something that you have never done before or maybe you have done it, but you are ready to explore a new place. Learning to SCUBA dive is something you can do almost anywhere, unless you planned a skiing vacation. But what is cold snow compared to the depths of the deep blue sea with it’s array of colorful fish and coral reefs? The ocean is calling you to come deeper and find new realms of treasure.

Reading this you may be thinking – not me, never, no way! You may have thought about it very briefly and the thought became a fleeting one before it had much chance to take root. Let me encourage you to rethink the choice to SCUBA dive or not to SCUBA dive. Why? Because everyone needs to experience the vastness of what is under the surface of the sea. Everyone needs to do something they never thought they would do. Not only for them, but to surprise the ones they love. Being a little crazy now and then adds spice to life.

The good news and probably the best news for those who are feeling especially negative toward the idea of learning to SCUBA dive is that you do not just buy some gear, go to the ocean, and dive. They have schools all over the place to help you learn. Schools teach in a classroom setting to ensure you understand the basic techniques. After the classroom, you go to a pool and practice. This is like a dress rehearsal. It prepares you for the feel of the gear and what will be required of you, but nothing can prepare you for the wonders of underwater world. That is the reason to learn to SCUBA dive. Most have no idea what they will encounter and are rendered speechless by the what their eyes are able to feast upon. So when does the next class start?
