The Popularity of KSwiss
January 13, 2010 on 7:08 am | By admin | In Sports | Comments OffIn 1966, at Wimbledon, the kswiss brand made their first appearance which launched them into instant recognition and long lasting success in the world of sports and beyond. They didn’t jump onto the sports scene with flashy colors and an unusual look. On the contrary, it was the performance of the shoe that caught the attention of professionals and consumers. The only design that the sneaker boasted was a small Swiss flag on an all together white shoe. People kept an eye on the athletes that wore this brand of shoe.
Kswiss did not do what the competitors did and run endless commercials. They didn’t decorate countless billboards with new and witty logos. You did not hear about them over the radio or see sales ads in the newspapers because they didn’t advertise with any of the normal means. They allowed the shoes to speak for themselves through the feet of their athletes. Of course, when things started to change on the athletic front, kswiss had to change or be left behind. Shoes were no longer based on good performance. Sneakers became a new tool for those wanting to start new fashion trends. Other brands were making more than just sneakers, they were now into apparel with their logos in view. Feet were no longer enough to gain the proper attention in a competitive world.
Through the changes, kswiss almost got lost until a man took over the company because he knew the quality of this brand of shoes. He dove head first with the company straight into the advertising world, he didn’t rely on the athletes wearing his brand and consumers noticing. His ads were heard over the radio and he utilized sports magazines and other print avenues. The ads spoke of quality, durability, and simplicity. He didn’t do as other companies were doing and dress up well known sports figures in apparel with the kswiss logo.
It is with these beginnings that kswiss has become a name recognized in sports because the action of this shoe spoke louder than the logos of other companies. They are still going strong today.
