To Correct A Slice, You Need To Start Focus on three Things
February 7, 2010 on 4:08 pm | By admin | In SportsIf you’re fighting an ongoing fade in your golf game and wish to correct a slice once and for all, then you will likely need to focus on all three of the following areas.
First, you’re going to take a closer look at your setup. Many times the entire slicing program is caused by lining up incorrectly and through correction, the slice can completely disappear. Make sure that the club face is square to the target and your body parts are parellel to the target line. If you’re not sure if you are lined up properly, get someone to stand behind you and line you up so that you can change you set up to accomplish this yourself.
Second, you’ve got to pay attention to your grip. Often times, the hands will twist through the backswing instead of being locked into place. When this happens, the hands don’t always get back to the starting position, impacting the ball from the outside in and creating the slicing action.
Third, make sure that you’re starting your backswing with your arms and not your lower body. If the lower body gets started first, it will likely get ahead of your arms and cause your hips to open up, resulting in the golf swing coming too far inside and creating a sideways spin on impact that generates the slice.
By focusing on all three of this problem areas, there is a good chance you will be able to get rid of your slice in a short amount of time.
