Vans Skate Shoes for Those Who Do and Those Who Wish They Did

Way back in 1966, Paul Van Doren decided to try creating a market for shoes that could be sold directly to customers without any middleman. His experiment took off when ten years later, two professional skateboarders, Tony Alva and Stacy Peralta designed the original red and blue Era skate shoe. When the now classic checkerboard version of the Vans Skate Shoes was worn in the teen hit movie, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, this new company was firmly established as a leader in trendy skate shoes. Today it is possible to choose from more than sixty different styles that range from deck shoes to skateboard shoes, to snowboard boots, and even sandals.

Young people today still love Vans Skate Shoes. It seems as if you don’t really need to be a boarder to dress like one. That famous checkerboard slip-on is still available, although now you can buy it in a variety of solids or patterned colors, including an electric blue version that is really eye-catching. These shoes continue to be sold with all canvas upper materials and the original vulcanized waffle bottom soles.

Classic Half Cab Skate Shoes are another popular line of Vans Skate Shoes. With the signature of Steve Caballero, these skate shoes have mid tops that are made of durable suede and will last much longer than other styles. They also have double stitching in the ollie area, which is important to boarders. Ventilation in the toe area allows your feet to breathe when they are working so hard to stay on the board. The original Off the Wall outsole really finishes the look and adds to the sturdiness and durability of these skate shoes.

Another popular and team-tested version of the Vans Skate Shoes is the Chukka Low Skate line. This shoe comes with premium suede uppers to make it long-lasting and a slim shape that is so valued today. This design really allows for flexibility and is lightweight without sacrificing its strength. A drop-in pU midsole helps the rider maintain excellent board control, and the increased cushioning protects your feet from the stress of hard landings. The Chukka also has the original and signature waffle designed sole. The timeless style of these skate shoes has made them a favorite of the skate boarding crowd and also of those just wishing to be as cool as the skateboarding crowd. In fact, the youth of today have remained loyal fans of all the lines of Vans Skate shoes.
